This is a soon-to-be 5-part upload (as of upload time, it could be more if my procrastination got the better of me) that's going to be uploaded within one day (or a few more, likely this, trust me), and yes, I hate my procrastination for this one. (update as of 7 August 2025) Nope, I gave up writing other 1 Miss-ty posts, eat this 1 Miss-ty article since I decided to 1 Miss-ty the whole blog's very purpose a few weeks back.
Another "meeting up with my supervisor lecturer" day, which means, laundry day yay.
As usual, revenge bedtime procrastination got the better of me, so yeah, the Sleep Deprivation debuff activated as usual.
Nothing very remarkable happened for the first half of the day... Though the LRT driver deserved a big thanks for giving ample door open time to let me run from the southbound platform, go down to the ticket gates, then go all the way back up to the northbound platform to get on the train. Thanks!
The meeting goes without much issues... Aside from my supervisor lecturer getting sudden meeting invites and reschedules that got to her at the very last minute (as expected, Monday shenanigans), everything else was a breeze. Not to mention I got lucky for catching the bus that happened to arrived just in time when I was leaving. A bit tired yes, but hey, didn't miss the bus.
Judgement 1 Miss-ty...?: Things in brick and mortar shops should be cheaper compared to the same item on online listings right? Right?
Context: My current keyboard has issues on its numpad and I might send it for warranty repairs soon, in the meantime, I was browsing Shopee for the same model and found a listing of the same keyboard. RM23, and can go to RM20 with vouchers provided by the shop. Way lower than whatever the hell the cough popular bookstore that sells popular books and at the same time being popular for selling pretty overpriced stuff too.
When checking the item details, said Shopee shop also has a brick and mortar shop located in a mall called the Great Eastern Mall (yes, it's owned by the lion logo insurance company, and their office tower happened to be next door too), not to mention bus accessible too, life is indeed great when you can hit a mall with accessible public transport.
... and not to mention riding on the uncommon double decker buses too, since line 300, the one bus line that leads to said mall runs on double deckers.
So with the assumption of "Probably I can get the same deal, heck maybe a better deal?" mindset (Spoiler: This very sentence bites me back), off to the mall I go.
The mall is great, I say a standard mid-small mall, not much people strolling around (expected for a Monday), quite ample amount of F&Bs at the ground and lower ground floor (there's a supermarket too), which I'm guessing mainly caters for the folks in the office tower right next door. Convenient, I can say. Oh don't get me yap on their two-floor escalators,
Aaaaand back to the mission, the shop. It's a HP computer shop, mostly selling HP laptops, but they have accessories at the sides. Lots of them. So after confirming I'm at the right shop, I went in.
... and lo and behold, I got freaking scammed by my own words.
RM29. Same thing, RM29. I'm not even bothered to quarrel with the shop folks, gave a "Thanks!" to the folks in the shop and walked out.
... and instantly carted that in my Shopee cart to spite them. (I bought this a few days later since the voucher was gone but it recently got back when I was writing this)

Pizza + 1 Miss-ty = 1 Miss-ty Pizza
Back to the LRT after a bus ride from the mall (OK I lied, I can't find the bus stop that should be at the opposite of the mall, so I had a quick detour + window shopping to the convenience store on the direction to the LRT station, and walking my way to the hospital around 10 minutes away, walking distance, where the bus will definitely stop, aaaaand a gut feeling tells me the bus driver wasn't having a good day, he sulked quite a lot).
And I got a notification from my sister when I was reading some stuff on my phone.
Free pizza in the shape of a slide-out box, but Russian roulette of four different flavours.
I'm somewhat hungry from all the walks, despite having a box of nasi lemak prior getting in the LRT station back when I left the campus, so good timing.
So I got this forwarded to Discord, and pinged Poyo, since he's joining me too (once again) that day. And he's down for some too.
So, reached MyTown, where we set to meet up there, had an awkward) conversation with a random mid-aged uncle, where Poyo waited for me while having a quick bite at Burger King, while the uncle somehow started chatting with him (it's actually awkward mainly of language barriers), he left shortly after with his wife, and a bit later off to Pizza Hut we go.
The gimmick was simple: Scan the QR code provided at the shop, input phone number and email, and let the Russian roulette of fate decide which pizza you'll get.
... but there's a few catches I found in the system while I was looking around on the site:-
... aaaaand I missed the timing to tell him when we're doing it. But no matter, we got the, according to the counter guy there, "the best flavours of all four": Lemongrass Chili Seafood.
We got our pizza, got some more food from the IKEA restaurant, and bon appetit.
That pizza's a solid 8/10 anyways, can go to 8.5 or 9 but we just had it at a not-so-good timing (it got cold pretty quick when we had it) that's all.
... but truthfully saying, normal pizza gets the better deal since this pizza, slightly bigger than our palms for around RM12, not very a great deal to buy. Round, circular pizza is still the GOAT.
I FC you, I FC you not.
I'll be honest, in terms of 1 Miss-ty counts, not so eventful. Not very on par with usual performance so... You get it.
(I promise this will be relevant) So it was the release week for World Dai Star's (I'm writing this as WDS after this) collab map in maimai, where WDS is yet another mobile rhythm game, but limited to Japan only, yet somehow the collab map got into the International version for some reason. So erm, hope for WDS global release?
So we happen to find Like the Brilliance of Sirius, a song from WDS, which happens to be a Lv12 on Expert difficulty. Free rating points.
And FC first try. Easy clap.
... and I got the task track notification of clearing the same song once again once I ended that credit... OK easy FC again, and if I don't fumble I'll get maybe a SSS, heck SSS+? Sure.
... aaaaand I jinxed myself. Yes, I got a better score, but with a 1 Miss-ty.
A Break note 1 Miss-ty, not to mention.
And worse, that one Break Miss costed a whole 0.66%, which would be a SSS+ if I didn't missed that... Sigh. Bummer. Will get revenge on that soon.
And believe it or not, aside from forgetting to upload that score card (yes, another 1 Miss-ty), that's the only 1 Miss-ty for maimai for that day. Others score card uploads are just FCs... And let's move this to the next section.
Wait wait wait, hold it. I forgot another.
I did my best again... On getting another 1 Miss-ty for that day.
Testing the Lv14 waters: If I die, I die.
Yes, I was pulled by Poyo to try some Lv14 tracks, and yes, all in Master difficulty (since we don't have Lv14s in Expert... Yet).
Believe it or not, as a 13k player, I'm still struggling on Lv13 tracks, let alone tracks on Lv13+, and heck Lv14 and above. And quote NekoGod, the current server owner for the Tower of Saviors EN Discord (yes he plays maimai too, but in South Korea):
Yes, I somewhat cheesed my way up to 13k rating, well with a few Masters of course, but everything else is just Expert and only Expert difficulty.
Back to the arcade, he suggested we try out Grievous Lady, a track from Arcaea that's actually hard, both in Arcaea and maimai (and yet he somehow had an SS+ prior, a 99.7830% in exact... I mean I'm not even surprised now since he's on the 15k rating range XD).
And yeah, there goes my classic quote: "If I die, I die.". I'm not even surprised if I died horribly with lots of Miss notes and everything else flies all around...
... and surprisingly not too hard. Aside from parts that I can't sightread at all (most of the times are caused by either too much notes to process or straight up slider spam, stamina cannot hold up anymore, or worse, inconvenient tapping locations), it's still great overall... Despite me didn't hit even 90%, which in my opinion, my personal acceptable pass score... But it's a Lv14 track so this won't apply until I get very very comfortable with Lv13+ tracks.
And we went for another Lv14 on the next credit. This time, Love's Theme of BADASS.
It's pure pain. Pure. Freaking. Pain.
Back to the "I cannot sightread" checklist — Too much notes to process, check; slide spam, check; low stamina from all the exertions, check; inconvenient tapping location, check. This is just too badass to me.
Barely survived with a 81.9290%... And according to Poyo, in terms of (hidden but more precise) difficulty ratings, where decimal points were involved in it, Grievous Lady, a technical-centric charting has a difficulty rating of 14.3, while the stamina-centric Love's Theme of BADASS only has a rating of 14.0.
... and as usual, fighting the Music to end the day. Sadly no improvements. But welp, it's expected.
All done for the day, we went for the toilets, get our shirts changed (yes please remember maimai is a very sweaty arcade game, literally), got my bottle refilled, and we went on our way back.
